Modern writing developed since long ago from simple symbols into the alphabet we use now.Alphabets made life much easier to contact and to save human’s lives events.
At the first stage before 5500 years in Sumeria,writing consisted of pictograms which looked like pictures and gradually changed into a system of symbols called cuneiform.
After that,ideograms were used to express ideas as well as objects.It didn’t take so long to start using hieroglyphs by the Egyptians which included ideograms & pictograms.About 3600 years ago , they developed a group of symbols that represented sounds which pointed towards the future of writing-the first alphabet.
At Ugarit in Syria , the biggest step was made , 30 letters were used which also were developed to create Arabic,Hebrew and ROman systems. The Roman system developed the Phoenicians to reduse letters from 30 to 22 ones.
For sure , travelling for trading was very common in those times so this helped European languages to appear.
Finally , we can notice that Roman language has been the mother of Western languages we use now!!
