The biggest konafah dish evaaa… : D !!!!

jhk

It was on Saturday the 18 th of July 2009,when konafah shops  like ” Abu-salha,Arafat,Ashour,Demascus,Abu-seer..” decided to make the biggest konafah dish.

On that day, over 50 thousand people came from different parts of palestine including Palestinians who live in the occupied parts since 1948 and lots of forigners came to Nablus, too. The streets were decorated with flags, balloons and nice things : D

On that day,all the hotles were full and crowded. The konafah dish was 2 metres wide and 73 metres long. So,it entered Guiness records. This big dish was prepared a day before. It was put at the front of the big mall of the city in the souq-market-.The dish was surrounded by policemen to keep the order and the organisation.

Anyway,on Saturday many people went to the souq at 7:00 am to pick a good place near the dish so that they can eat and see all the events and many others went later before the oppening time. The place was full with photographers and even press.

At 11:00 am  the prime minister Salam Fayyad cut the rope as a start of the big event. He ate from it and the other business and authorities who came with him, then they left the place.

The place was very crowded, sometimes I just couldn’t move . Anyway,it wasn’t as we all expected because it wasn’t organised well!! : (

By the way, someone said ,”there is two car keys as a prise imbeded in the konafah and the person who finds the key, will win a 2009 car”. So,some people were carried away and acting crazy. They took big amounts of konafah searching for the key,and at the end it was only a stupid lie because no one found any key!!!

After that,a singing group-band- came and started singing on the stage, all the boys were dancing Dabkah and shouting(having fun ; P)

the konafah day was the third day of the biggest shopping festival,so all the people were excited for this day and they stayed in the souq having fun and enjoying shopping and the party, too.

P.S..No one can imagine how it was except who was there in the souq on that day, right? ; )  ; )
